I hope you all had a Happy New Year and are enjoying all the snow and cold weather! =) We finally got a tiny bit of snow today. The girls are wanting enough to make snowmen and I am hoping for enough that we get to make donuts (a family tradition- make donuts when it snows! See this post Here from last winter for my recipe!!).
I am not one to make new year resolutions usually, but this year, we have a have a Bow Flex Home Gym that has been just sitting in our living room and has only been used maybe a dozen times since we got it several months ago! So I have started one of the work out plans doing 9 different work outs, for 20 mins., three days a week (Mon., Wed., Fri.). I have done it three days and hope to do my fourth tomorrow! Yippee! I am pretty excited about it! I really hope I can stick to it and wonder how long before I get the Bow Flex body? Lol! Actually, I hope it helps me strengthen my back more then anything.
I am also wanting to commit more time to reading this year! I have some good books that I have started and have more I Really want to read, so I have started a "reading schedule"! I was looking for a monthly schedule layout for reading, but could not find one, so I am using THIS schedule for now. I am writing in the days and month and then have six books picked out to read, one a day for six days (Mon.-Sat.), leaving my Sundays open for extra Bible/devotional reading!
The books I have to start with are "Created to Be his Helpmeet" by Debi Pearl (to read on Mon.), Lies Homeschool Moms Believe" by Todd Wilson (for Tues.), "The Joyful Homeschooler" by Mary Hood (for Wed.), "The Mom I want to be" by T. Suzanne Eller (for Thurs.), "A Woman's high Calling" by Elizabeth George (for Fri.), and "The 5000 Year Leap" by W. Cleon Skousen.
As I finish each book, I hope to replace it with a new one! Maybe I will be able to add more books to my shelf this year! That would be great!
I have added a book shelf to my sidebar, from Shelfari for fun too! =)
Bravo Hannah! I am going to be excercising more myself, getting rid of a year of laziness that has settled in on my body. Many prayers for your success.
ReplyDeleteThe books sound fabulous! Will you be doing reviews of them, or no? Would love to know your opinions. I am currently starting "The Well Trained Mind" by the Bauers, but like you, I have to make myself get off the computer. LOL
Be blessed friend!
Hey Stephanie!
ReplyDeleteThank you for another sweet comment! And the encouragement! I am always so happy to see you stop by!
I would be happy to do little reviews of the books I read for you, here on my blog! That should be fun!
Maybe you can share some about the books you read this year too! "The Well trained Mind" sounds interesting!
God bless!
~Hannah
Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteI always have a stack of books by my bed to read! I've read a couple on your list but not all. I wonder how many I can get at the library? I like the schedule idea. Have fun with it!
God Bless You!!
