If you love pizza as much as I do, you will love to hear about this!

Freschetta is having a Rally for Real Pizza campaign!

"Frozen pizza shouldn’t simply taste better. It should be better. Freschetta® frozen pizzas are made with top-quality ingredients and taste-tested recipes, just to make sure your pizza will always deliver Fresch® flavor."

I Rally For Real Pizza because I don't want to feed my family a pizza that has very little taste and is like you are just eating some crust with a dab of cheese throwed on top and a few pieces of meat or veggies that everyone will fight over. I want a pizza loaded with flavor! Flavor in the crust, flavor in the cheese, and tons of flavor loaded toppings!!

Freschetta™ Rally for Real Pizza campaign has an awesome Rally Mosaic on Facebook that you have got to check out! You can join the Freschetta™ Rally for Real Pizza by submitting a photo to the Rally Mosaic on Facebook. Each week they will select 100 winners – to each receive 5 Freschetta® pizzas. On March 30, they will also select 10 winners – who will each receive Freschetta® Pizza for a Year!
I found this great recipe on Taste of Home and can hardly wait to try it!

Sourdough Bread Recipe

32 ServingsPrep: 20 min. + standing Bake: 45 min. + cooling

Ingredients
1 package (1/4 ounce) active dry yeast
3-1/2 cups warm water (110° to 115°), divided
7 to 8 cups all-purpose flour, divided
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
2 tablespoons butter, melted
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
Cornmeal

Directions
In a 4-qt. non-metallic bowl, dissolve yeast in 2 cups warm water;
let stand for 5 minutes. Stir in 2 cups of flour until smooth.
Cover loosely with a clean towel. Let stand in a warm place
(80°-90°) to ferment for 48 hours; stir several times daily.
(The mixture will become bubbly and rise, have a "yeasty" sour aroma
and a transparent yellow liquid will form on the top.) Stir in milk
powder, butter, sugar, salt, remaining water and enough remaining
flour to form a soft dough. (Do not knead.) Cover and let rise in a
warm place until doubled, about 1-1/2 hours.

Turn onto a floured surface; punch dough down. (Do not knead).
Divide in half. Shape each into a round loaf. Heavily grease baking
sheets and sprinkle with cornmeal. Place dough on prepared pans.

Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.

With a sharp knife, make three diagonal slashes across tops of loaves. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes. Brush loaves with cold water; bake 35-40 minutes longer or until golden brown. Yield: 2
loaves.

Editor’s Note: Dough may also be shaped into 24 rolls instead of loaves. Bake for 10 minutes, then 20-25 minutes after brushing with water. For Their Futurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04411668369778067238noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1574299437309068670.post-17573873036544120942012-02-09T08:44:00.000-06:002012-02-09T08:44:19.807-06:00Betty Crocker coupons!Hey friends!
I love how you can use the tops for lids or covers OR trays! So neat! I have most of the tops on mine flipped over so that they can hold stuff on top too.
The tops are just as sturdy as the boxes so are also great for carrying things on, using for a tv tray, etc!

As a homeschool mom, the Bento boxes have so many uses and are so handy! If I am doing things around the house, I can always carry one of the trays with me of things I am using or need, putting up items etc.
I use the Large Bento box, JUST for homeschool, right now. It is the perfect size to hold the notebooks, teacher books, student books, flashcards and books we are using at the moment. =) I love it! So handy and also can have it right where I need it. And as you can see, in the picture below, the top for it is being used for the youngest Princess's Kindergarten puppets. =)
Wow, I am so behind on my blogging! REALLY starting to miss it! My computer is very messed up and locked up again on me for a while around the Holidays. That was a real bummer, but I did spend more time with my family! =)

Last summer, we bought some peppers plants to plant in our garden spot. They did sooo good this year! lol! We had peppers running out of our ears!

I had Never picked so many peppers at once! One day I picked a 5 gallon bucket of Just jalapeno peppers!

I pickled a lot of the jalapeno and some habanaro (sp?) peppers. Then I dried and dehydrated a ton of them. Ground some of the dehydrated ones up, put them in an seasoning shaker, and King Ed loves to put them on his soups, stew, chili, pizza etc. He loves hot peppers.

I loved the bell peppers of course! We had stuffed peppers, and used peppers for a lot of meals over the summer. I also dehydrated a bunch of the bell peppers. They seem to be keeping well in the fridge, but I need to vacuum pack some.

I was very surprised and happy with the quality of the peppers. Wish they had all been open-pollinated seed, but the bells were hybrid. =( Oh well, I am really going to aim at being a Better gardener this year! =)

Last month was our oldest Princess birthday! yay!
I made her a Sand castle cake! She and all the children loved it!
Here is the LINK for the recipe I used. It was very easy to make.
My sister came and helped decorate for a Luau party. =) She found some of the cutest decorations and party supplies at Dollar tree.
I made a watermelon bowel and filled it with fruit for the kids.
She wanted pizza, so I made pizza for everyone.

A train set! I found one on Amazon for a good deal, and Daddy liked it because it came with a bucket that it All fits into!

I can hardly wait for the youngest Princess to have her birthday! I have to decide on a cake and everything for it still. =)
I also want to start getting ready for the Holidays. =)

And therefore we may follow the Stoics, who diligently investigate the etymology of words; and we may accept their statement that "good faith" is so called because what is promised is "made good," although some may find this derivation/a rather farfetched. There are, on the other hand, two kinds of injustice — the one, on the part of those who inflict wrong, the other on the part of those who, when they can, do not shield from wrong those upon whom it is being inflicted. For he who, under the influence of anger or some other passion, wrongfully assaults another seems, as it were, to be laying violent hands upon a comrade; but he who does not prevent or oppose wrong, if he can, is just as guilty of wrong as if he deserted his parents or his friends or his country.

Then, too, those very wrongs which people try to inflict on purpose to injure are often the result of fear: that is, he who premeditates injuring another is afraid that, if he does not do so, he may himself be made to suffer some hurt. But, for the most part, people are led to wrong-doing in order to secure some personal end; in this vice, avarice is generally the controlling motive."
From
DE OFFICIIS
By
Marcus Tullius Cicero

Translated by Walter Miller.
Loeb edn.
Cambridge: Harvard University Press,
1913For Their Futurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04411668369778067238noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1574299437309068670.post-58318836735710631912011-07-10T07:39:00.004-05:002011-07-10T08:47:12.586-05:00Cicero on Morals and Moral Duties

"Although philosophy offers many problems, both important and useful, that have been fully and carefully discussed by philosophers, those teachings which have been handed down on the subject of moral duties seem to have the widest practical application. For no phase of life, whether public or private, whether in business or in the home, whether one is working on what concerns oneself alone or dealing with another, can be without its moral duty; on the discharge of such duties depends all that is morally right, and on their neglect all that is morally wrong in life.

Moreover, the subject of this inquiry is the common property of all philosophers; for who would presume to call himself a philosopher, if he did not inculcate any lessons of duty? But there are some schools that distort all notions of duty by the theories they propose touching the supreme good and the supreme evil. For he who posits the supreme good as having no connection with virtue and measures it not by a moral standard but by his own interests — if he should be consistent and not rather at times over-ruled by his better nature, he could value neither friendship nor justice nor generosity; and brave he surely cannot possibly be that counts pain the supreme evil, nor temperate he that holds pleasure to be the supreme good."
From
DE OFFICIIS
By Marcus Tullius Cicero

Translated by Walter Miller.
Loeb edn.
Cambridge: Harvard University Press,
1913
For Their Futurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04411668369778067238noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1574299437309068670.post-81538219023478583612011-06-24T11:40:00.004-05:002011-06-24T11:46:07.253-05:00Benjamin Franklin Fridays~ On Liberty & Safety"They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
-Benjamin Franklin 1759For Their Futurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04411668369778067238noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1574299437309068670.post-67507192083335810692011-06-24T11:08:00.002-05:002011-06-24T11:40:15.908-05:00Benjamin Franklin Friday's ~The Words of Our Founding FathersBenjamin Franklin's Advice to a young woman:

"I hear you are now in Boston, gay and lovely as usual. Let me give you some fatherly advice. Kill no more pigeons than you can eat. Be a good girl and don't forget your catechism. Go constantly to meeting- or church- till you get a good husband, then stay at home and nurse the children, and live like a Christian. Spend your spare hours, in sober whisk, prayers, or learning to cypher. You must practice addition to your husband's estate, by industry and frugality; subtraction of all unnecessary expenses; multiplication (I would gladly have taught you that myself, but you thought it time enough, and wouldn't learn) he will soon make you a mistress of it. As to division, I say with brother Paul,
Let there be no division among ye. But as your good sister Hubbard (my love to her) is well acquainted with the Rule of Two, I hope you will become an expert at the Rule of Three; that when I have again the pleasure of seeing you, I may find you like my grape vine, surrounded with clusters, plump, juicy, blushing, pretty little rogues, like their Mama."
-Benjamin Franklin, 1755
From the book, "The Real Benjamin Franklin"For Their Futurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04411668369778067238noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1574299437309068670.post-84856353335154993972011-06-19T08:48:00.003-05:002011-06-19T08:56:06.211-05:00Ralph Waldo Emerson on "Self Reliance"I just found the article on Self Reliance, by Ralph Waldo Emerson! Have you read it? I highly recommend that you do!
Here is just a small piece of it that I wanted to share!

From
"Self Reliance"
By Ralph Waldo Emerson
1841

"If our young men miscarry in their first enterprises, they lose all heart. If the young merchant fails, men say he is ruined. If the finest genius studies at one of our colleges, and is not installed in an office within one year afterwards in the cities or suburbs of Boston or New York, it seems to his friends and to himself that he is right in being disheartened, and in complaining the rest of his life. A sturdy lad from New Hampshire or Vermont, who in turn tries all the professions, who teams it, farms it, peddles, keeps a school, preaches, edits a newspaper, goes to Congress, buys a township, and so forth, in successive years, and always, like a cat, falls on his feet, is worth a hundred of these city dolls. He walks abreast with his days, and feels no shame in not 'studying a profession,' for he does not postpone his life, but lives already. He has not one chance, but a hundred chances. Let a Stoic open the resources of man, and tell men they are not leaning willows, but can and must detach themselves; that with the exercise of self-trust, new powers shall appear; that a man is the word made flesh, born to shed healing to the nations, that he should be ashamed of our compassion, and that the moment he acts from himself, tossing the laws, the books, idolatries, and customs out of the window, we pity him no more, but thank and revere him, — and that teacher shall restore the life of man to splendor, and make his name dear to all history." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Read the whole article From The Patriot Post ! Usually we go to my sister's and have a big hunt and lunch, but this year they had other things going on, so we just stayed home. I remember, as a teenager, I got one of the amaryllis growing sets for my birthday! And a couple of years ago, I was given another one!
You have to remember though, I do not have a green thumb! Most stuff dies on me, so this poor plant has seen some ruff days over the past few years!
Winter of 2010, I had to separate the bulbs, since they were getting to big in the pot! So I made two pots with two bulbs in each pot. So far they are doing good, but will need to separate them again this year, as they keep growing!

This year, both started to bloom in April! And they were just beautiful! I was so excited to have two blooming at the same time! I had one more bloom later, but it was smaller and only had two flowers on it.

I took some pictures of them as they bloomed and wanted them here on my blog! Hope you enjoy them too!

~Hannah
For Their Futurehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04411668369778067238noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1574299437309068670.post-1994578795191057152011-06-05T09:36:00.002-05:002011-06-05T10:00:56.852-05:00Our new van!A couple of months ago (wow, time flies!), we got a "new" van!
I feel like a Real homeschool family now! lol!
It is a '98, but in pretty good shape and we have really been enjoying it!
Believe it or not, this is actually my first car! When I showed the Zoobie Pets website to my daughters, they were so excited, to say the least! =)
We had great fun looking at each Zoobie Pet and it's blanket and the pictures of children snuggling their plush pets!
We finally decided that Patch the Pinto would fit best into our home, since my husband was a horse trainer, we had horses when I was growing up and my girls LOVE horses and want one (or two!) of their own someday!
My girls then talked about getting Patch the Pinto and when the delivery truck came they were just bouncing up and day, hoping it was Patch the Pinto! It made me so happy to see them so excited when we opened the box and there was Patch the Pinto!
He is soooo cute and so soft! I just love the cozy blanket! It is big enough for my girls to cover up with! Plus he makes the perfect size pillow for them and as a plush toy, he is just the right size for hugging!
I think it looks like a baby miniature horse! lol!

The blanket is pretty easy to take out and put back inside of the pet, and you can leave it zipped onto the pet if you want to!

There are two, velcro tabs on the bottom that gather the pillow up to make the pet into the animal shape. There are 4 different collections of Zoobies!
