Wednesdays Walk....Happy 5th Anniversary!

Happy to join Wednesdays Walk Down Memory Lane Today!

Happy 5th Wedding Anniversary to the Love of My Life!

Five years ago today, the love of my life took me to a courthouse and we were legaly married under a big tree that was in the courthouse yard!

There were only two other friends there. It was a warm sunny day! Just lovely!

I had never been to or heard about a courthouse wedding so was not sure if you were the wedding dress or not and since mine was second hand and not fitted for me, I just wore a nice outfit! Lol! Hey I was only 18, and didn't have a mother figure to help me!

For a while I was upset that I did not get a wedding with guest, cake, decorations and all the goodies, but I got over that. I did not need all of that, I have been blessed with a wonderful husband and marriage, and I am sooo thankful for that! Now we have been blessed with 5 years of being together Everyday and every night! Two little girls and I look forward to the future God has in store for us! He has been so Good to us!

We took some pictures of ourselves after we got back home! Thought I would share them here today! They may look unusual, with the background around them, but that is because they were in a scarpbook I started for my husband!

King Ed wanted a picture of me in my dress! It is no telling how old, but I kept it and if it holds up, may keep it for my girls!

My blog and TCH made it to the Top 100 Best Blogs for Christian Homeschoolers!

I recieved an email this morning, letting me know that my blog was featured as one of the top 100 Best Blogs for Christian Homeschoolers! WoW! Then as I was looking over the other blogs, there was The Conservative Homeschooler"! PTL!

I am very surprised that my blog made it there, and very thankful that TCH made it there! A big THANK YOU to the wonderful people who take the time to go over the blogs for Chrsitian Homeschoolers! I hope to go over the list again and find some more blogs to follow and try to keep up with, too!

July 4th Tea Party

Here are some pictures of the Jackson,TN. Tea Party/rally.
There were around 600 there, I would guess. It was a great rally! A lot of petitions to sign, a lot of fired-up people and great speeches!

The rally was in front of the courthouse and it was decorated so pretty!

One of the three booths were everyone signed petitions and a declaration.

About four people sang patriotic songs and about 8 others got up and spoke on different subjects. The man below was an OBGYN (sp?), who did the pro-life speech! It was great!

We handed out about 250 of the "Open Letter to the State Legislators", and left the rest (we took 300 copies) at the petition tables. My husband took the time to explain the "Open Letter" to everyone he gave it to! I am so proud of him! =) =) =)

I just had to take this picture! An elderly gentleman was riding around with his little dog in his lap! The patriotic elders really touch me! I know most of them have served this country and they have seen this country cone so far and have seen it fall over the past 30 years. How sad, that in their later years they have to worry and be concerned about their freedoms and country again!

Wednesdays Walk....My brother is 18!

I have been thinking about joining all the ladies at Lynnette's Wednesdays Walk, over on her blog "Dancing Barefoot on Weathered Ground", and finally, here I go! I have a lot to share, but may not be able to make it every week!
God bless you all!

Wow! It is hard to believe my "little" brother, Drew just turned 18!!!
I found this picture of his 11th birthday (June '02)! Here he is with me sitting beside him and brother, Arthur, in the background!
Like each of my siblings, Drew holds a very special place in my heart.
Drew is the fourth child of 7, he was the secound baby mom had at home and when he was just 2 yrs. old had to spend 10 days in the hospital from a staff infection! Of course it returned, but that time mom treated it naturally and it did not come back! Drew has always had a mouth full of sweet teeth, I have always thought! While mom was pregnant with him, we use to eat ice cream at Braums, every week, on the way home from church. Drew has always liked sweets over everything else!
Since his birthday comes at the end of June, we had a lot of fun times swimming, going to parks and other fun outdoor activities on his birthdays!
Since we do not visit with my family right now, I have not gotten to see Drew in a while. Drew was baptized not long ago, and that was very joyful for me to hear! Drew is a hard worker, loves to ride horses and over the years his "toys" have grown! From the trucks and cars he use to Love to play with, to weed-eaters, lawn mowers & golf carts and now to pick-ups, tracters, chainsaws and sawmills! He is as tall as dad now (dad is 6'2")! And looks so grown up!
I worry about him a lot, but just have to stop and pray for him! He was very troubled in the past, growing up, probably more then us older 3 siblings. I pray that he is more joyful now and that if he is not, God will soon lead him to where He wants him to be and gives him the joy and peace he needs!
I pray we get to see Drew more soon and can have many more joyful times to make memories in the future!
Until then though, I wish my dear brother many blessings and joys everyday and hope he had a Wonderful 18th birthday! I am so proud of him!
