There is a great book called, ""The Jesus You Can't Ignore: What You must learn from Jesus Bold Confrontations" by John MacArthur.
I feel in today's society, we have watered down His word to fit our worldly views too much that the Jesus we often portrayed isn't the Jesus who confronted the Pharisees, turned over the tables in the temples and in today's world, would be called "intolerant".
The Jesus that is in the bible, based His views not on the current culture, or the world or early writers but straight from the Torah, His, our, Father's Word.
Today, people back up with not just Scripture, but also self-help writers, the neighbor down the street, or the latest cultural fad.
I love how MacArthur shared,"He gave its (referencing God's Word, the Bible) interpretation wihtout buttressing His point of view with endless quotations from earlier writers."
Are we not warned by our Father, Himself that,"Jude 1:17-19 (King James Version) 17But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; 18How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. 19These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit "
People are out there who base their thoughts on their own feelings and view Him through their own emotions but emotions/feelings are decievable and changes with the wind.
Truthfully He will not be as tolerant as people think it would be for many, tolerance means..."It's okay to sin". People don't want to be rebuked and disciplined..they want to be pat on their back and told..."If it feels good...do it".
