~Thomas Jefferson Tuesday~ The Words of Our Founding Fathers

"It would be a dangerous delusion were a confidence in the men of our choice to silence our fears for the safety of our rights; that confidence is everywhere the parent of despotism; free government is founded in jealousy, and not in confidence; it is jealousy and not confidence, which prescribes limited constitutions to bind down those whom we are obliged to trust with power; that our Constitution has accordingly fixed the limits to which, and no farther, our confidence may go....
In question of power, then, let no more be said of confidence in man, BUT BIND HIM DOWN WITH THE CHAINS OF THE CONSTITUTION."

~Music Monday~ Tribute to Our Troops

For more great music to start your week on the right note, visit Shawntele's blog, "Saved By Grace"!

Good, Monday morning to my dear blog friends!

I hope you all had a blessed weekend! Our weekend was busy, but good!I have been out working in the garden, trying to get the weeds under control! =) They were starting to get carried away out there! I am almost done weeding now and it has been a lot of fun (even though it has been hot), spending time in the garden.

I have been busy with other things when I am on the computer, so I have missed Music Monday lately. =( But today I have a very special song and that I really wanted to share with everyone!

I got the idea, over Memorial weekend, that Ginny Owen's song, "If You Want Me To" would be perfect with pictures of our troops. I thought it would go well and be a good tribute to our troops. I really think our troops do not get enough support, and word from Americans, that they are appreciated, loved and supported. The troops should not feel alone. Our troops should know that God loves them and is always with them and that Americans have their back and pray for them and are here for them!

I just happened to ask a lady on youtube (Carleen at Just4MeVideo) if she could put it together. She said she would give it a try, and the video below, (from youtube) is what she made!

This video is for our troops and I hope you will help get it out so that they can see it. Please watch, and pass it on to everyone you know! Share it on your blog, email the link, etc! Hope you can take the time to rate the video and leave a comment the videos youtube page also!

God bless our troops! God bless your Monday and week ahead!

~The Words Of Our Founding Father's~ James Madison

I get so sick of hearing people say that America is a Democracy.
Maybe it is now, but that is not how the founding father's had planned it or set it up. It was a Republic!! And I pray to God that it will soon return back to it's founding documents, morals and principles, and be a Republic once again!
We do not need to transform this country, we need to restore this country!

Here is something Madison wrote about the contrast between a democracy and a republic.......

"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.....

A republic, by which I mean a government in which the scheme of representation takes place, opens a different prospect and promises the cure for which we are seeking." ~James Madison (Federalist Papers, No.10, pg.81)

Make a Big Splash This Summer With V8 Splash!!!!!!! (Product Review)

Not long ago on one of my quick trips through the local grocery store, I ran down the juice isle looking for something that would be a good treat. It did not take me long to find the V8 drinks and the V8 splash looked really good! So I grabbed one bottle of the V8 Splash in Berry Blend! OH MY! It was the best tasting juice I have had in a long time!
I am Very excited to get a chance to do a review of V8 Splash here on my blog! The great folks at V8 Splash sent me two new flavors that I had not tried yet: Tropical Blend and Mango Peach!!!!!!
I think it is safe to say that I am hooked on V8 Splash now! These are just great tasting drinks and filled with "a powerful combination of vitamins A, C and E"!!!
Other flavors they have are:
Fruit Melody,
Strawberry Kiwi,
and two V8 Splash Smoothies:
Strawberry banana
and
Tropical Colada!

They also have V8 Splash in diet.

I can hardly wait to try them all! =)
I have to admit that I have some trouble sharing them! But I thought of a great way that my children would enjoy them!!! I poured some of the V8 Splash into my homemade Popsicle forms and made Popsicles out of the V8 Splash! How cool is that? Yummy, unique and full of vitamins! Just don't tell your kids that they have carrot juice in them! Lol! =)
My children loved them and it makes a great afternoon cooler for them!
The Tropical Blend has a luscious flavor of fruits with a hint of carrot, I think! But maybe that was just me wanting to taste some veggies in my juice! =) The Mango Peach...well if you love peach drinks, V8 Splash Mango Peach will blow you away! So heavenly!
You really should try some V8 Splash this summer! Serve it at parties, for the cookouts and oh, don't forget the 4th of July is coming up! So you better stock up! =)
I hope to serve this at our daughter's birthday party, instead of soda pops!
Oh, and another thing, V8 Splash was cheaper then a lot of the other juices that were in our grocery store! So that was another bug plus!!
I highly recommend you try some V8 Splash today! I give it 5 stars!

God bless your summer!
~Hannah

Tropical Traditions Coconut Oil Review!!!!!

When I first found Tropical Traditions, I knew it was a company that I would love!
The Coconut oil was the first thing I feel in love with, since I have heard and read so much about how good coconut oil is for you!
I guess when you learn how good coconut oil is, you also learn how refined, vegetable oils are Not good for you! Just the fact that they have so much done to them before they are put on the shelves to sell should be enough to turn you around from buying them again! But if that don't, what they are made from should!
Thankfully there is an alternative and yes, it is coconut oil!
Don't let the price of coconut oil frighten you! We are talking about cooking oil, something everyone uses and some people use on a daily basis. So why not use something that you know is good for you and your family?
Tropical Traditions has specials all the time for their products, so sign up for their newsletter so you can keep up with all of them! They often have sells and deals on the coconut oil! =)
I was able to try the Coconut oil, thanks to the great folks at Tropical Traditions! I was completely delighted when it finally arrived! I love using it in my homemade granola! It is also fantastic for healthy cookies! Yum! I used it to make my dandelion cookies back in the early springtime!
Do you have a picky eater who does not like the coconut flakes, but you still want some coconut flavor in your cooking? Coconut oil is the answer!
There are TONS of Recipes to try out and add to your favorites over at Tropical Traditions! Be sure to check them out after you order some things from Tropical Traditions, so you can come up with some neat menus to surprise your family!
I want to try some for making shrimp and other fish dishes this summer! With my coconut oil, of course!
You really should try Tropical traditions Coconut Oil! I think you will love it too!

Below is a great video about Tropical Traditions Coconut oil and below that I have posted about the Tropical Traditions referral plan! I hope you will use it to help me out some too, when you make your orders from Tropical Traditions!
And don't forget to facebook fan Tropical Traditions!

~What's Cooking Wednesdays?~ Shrimp Jambalaya!

Since I have started cooking in my crockpot, it has been exciting to try some new recipes that I have been wanting to cook! One that my husband was really wanting was shrimp jambalaya!
When it comes to cooking for my husband, I love to cook for him, but if he has had something in the past, made by someone else, I get very cautious about cooking it, for fear it will not be the same or better! =) So I was not sure how the shrimp jambalaya would work! Lol! As usual, I found me a recipe online and just jumped into it though and PTL! the results were fantastic!! And husband loved it! Yippee!
Besides the shrimp, it was not very expensive to make, and the recipe I used can be made very fast, or you can do it like I did and let it all (except the shrimp and rice) simmer on low in a slow cooker for a couple of hours!
Here is the recipe I used:

Shrimp Jambalaya
From Taste Of Home
"This delightfully different jambalaya is lighter than many of the traditional sausage varieties. Plus, it's a great way to use up leftover ham. I appreciate how easy it is to prepare, and I love the aroma while it's cooking."

4 ServingsPrep: 15 min. Cook: 30 min.

Ingredients
1 cup cubed fully cooked ham
3/4 cup chopped onion
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 cups chicken broth
1 can (14-1/2 ounces) stewed tomatoes
2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1/8 teaspoon each cayenne pepper, chili powder and pepper
1 bay leaf
1 cup uncooked long grain rice
1 pound uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
Directions
•In a large skillet, cook the ham, onion and garlic in oil until onion
is tender. Stir in the broth, tomatoes, parsley and seasonings.
Bring to a boil. Stir in rice. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for
15-20 minutes or until rice is tender. Add shrimp; cook 5 minutes
longer or until shrimp turn pink. Discard bay leaf. Yield: 4
servings.

Happy cooking and God bless!
~Hannah
