Benjamin Franklin's Advice to a young woman:

"I hear you are now in Boston, gay and lovely as usual. Let me give you some fatherly advice. Kill no more pigeons than you can eat. Be a good girl and don't forget your catechism. Go constantly to meeting- or church- till you get a good husband, then stay at home and nurse the children, and live like a Christian. Spend your spare hours, in sober whisk, prayers, or learning to cypher. You must practice addition to your husband's estate, by industry and frugality; subtraction of all unnecessary expenses; multiplication (I would gladly have taught you that myself, but you thought it time enough, and wouldn't learn) he will soon make you a mistress of it. As to division, I say with brother Paul,
Let there be no division among ye. Thomas Jefferson Tuesday- "Separation between Church and State"

Wonder where the whole "Separation between Church and State" thing came from? It was in a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a Committee of the Danbury Baptist Association, Connecticut!

And of course, Jefferson did not mean it to keep the Church out of the government, but to keep the government out of the Church!

Please, American people, do your research! Read the Founder's own words. Learn True History and teach it to your children.

"Believing with you that religion is a matter which lies solely between man and his God, that he owes account to none other for his faith or his worship, that the legislative powers of government reach actions only, and not opinions, I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should "make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," thus building a wall of separation between church and State. Adhering to this expression of the supreme will of the nation in behalf of the rights of conscience, I shall see with sincere satisfaction the progress of those sentiments which tend to restore to man all his natural rights, convinced he has no natural right in opposition to his social duties."

I have got to get back to my "Words of the Founding Fathers" post! Today is "Thomas Jefferson Tuesday"! And I was delighted to find this quote in the book "The Real Thomas Jefferson"!

"The doctrines of Jesus are simple, and tend all to the happiness of man:

1. That there is one only God, and He all perfect.

2. That there is a future state of rewards and punishments.

3. That to love God with all thy heart, and thy neighbor as thyself, is the sum of religion....Had the doctrines of Jesus been preached always as pure as they came from His lips, the whole civilized world would now have been Christian."

I get so sick of hearing people say that America is a Democracy.
Maybe it is now, but that is not how the founding father's had planned it or set it up. It was a Republic!! And I pray to God that it will soon return back to it's founding documents, morals and principles, and be a Republic once again!
We do not need to transform this country, we need to restore this country!

Here is something Madison wrote about the contrast between a democracy and a republic.......

"Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention; have ever been found incompatible with personal security or the rights of property; and have in general been as short in their lives as they have been violent in their deaths.....

A republic, by which I mean a government in which the scheme of representation takes place, opens a different prospect and promises the cure for which we are seeking." ~James Madison (Federalist Papers, No.10, pg.81)

In the book "The 5000 Year Leap" this quote by the famous John Adams is under the "22nd Principle, A Free People Should be Goverend by Law and Not by the Whims of Men." (page 243).



If you have not watched the HBO mini series of John Adams, yet, I highly recommend it! I love it, but cry thru most of it!

Every time I read a quote by John Adams now, it is the voice of Paul Giamatti! Lol!

"The 5000 Year Leap" 5th Principle

Here is my thoughts as I read the 5th Principle in "The 5000 Year Leap". I have been sharing these on a discussion at the "Conservative Homeschooler" and here on my blog. I highly recommend this book to everyone! You really need to learn this stuff about our country's history and please teach it to your children!

5th Principle (Pages 94-101)
"All Things Were Created by God, Therefore Upon Him All Mankind are Equally Dependent, and to Him They are Equally Responsible."
The 5th Principle is very easy to grasp, as a firm believer in the Creator.

I love John Locke’s definition of an atheist here! "Out of touch with reality"! How true. Once again, if you are close to nature and reality, you cannot deny that there is a God and Creator of All!
I need to make a note to myself to look up this book by John Locke, "Essay Concerning Human Understanding"!

"How Can We Know There is A God?"
Now that our children are getting bigger, we have to do more explaining around here! It is good to teach children since it really makes you think about what you believe and dig deeper into everything! You often have to ask yourself why you believe a certain way. It is just good!
In our daughter’s last school books, we discussed God and the creation, so we have been reading a lot about creation. She also got a telescope (but we have not been able to get out and use it yet!). Learning about planets, one of the books brought up the reason planets are spheres. It is interesting. You know if there was no Creator, then the planets could be any shape and there would be no perfect motion in outer space! Everything would be one big jumble and jam, like some Si.Fi. show!

Genesis 1:26 "‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.’" What do you know about God? He has compassion and love. He has justice, a sense of humor, is the Ultimate Artist and Chef and designer! He has order.

This makes so much sense to me! And it scares me that we have gotten so Far away from the law of nature! I know this country deserves whatever the Lord throws down, or allows to happen to it! And yet I fear for my family and friends and all the innocent ones who still do not know "their right hand from their left" (if I may quote from the Bible!).

Having grown up in a Christian home, I can hardly imagine not thinking that God is all around us! All knowing and All seeing! But sadly this was true then and is still true now! How sad and lonely it must be to think that no one is there for you All the time!

If you have the book "The Real George Washington" you can read and see how close this man was to His Creator! He is truly amazing to read about and his faith is inspiring!

"James Madison"
I do not know as much (have not read as much, but need to read more!) about Madison, but it can clearly be seen by the Constitution and his many writings, how close he was to his Creator also!

"In God We Trust"
"In God We Trust", taking an oath, swearing and affirming before God. Of course these were not just thrown in there! These were so important! People took it very serious to stand and say they swore to tell the truth, because they had a healthy fear of the Lord!

Samuel Adams Saturday (Speech Cont. Part 20 and final!)

George Washington Wednesdays, (The Words of Our Founding Fathers)

We finally have our "Real George Washington" book back!!! Yipppeee! I want to start reading it as a family together now! With the cold evenings, it should be fun to cuddle up and read about Washington out fighting for our freedom in the freezing weather! Wow. He went thru so much and yet was so humble about it. I wish I was more like him. So selfless. *sigh*
I should have more George Washington quotes when we get to reading it too! =)
