Open Letter To the Sheriffs of the Nation

What follows is a letter I sent Glenn Beck today. It lays out what we have been doing and the responses we have realized from our efforts.
I urge you to read the "Open letter to the Sheriffs of the nation", if you agree, distribute anywhere you may deem to be useful. Organizational platforms, political organizations, home school organizations, churches, etc. can get it out much faster and more efficiently. If you have a idea to facilitate distribution please try it. In addition, please participate in this effort on a personal level, family, friends, everyone makes a difference. This WILL WORK!
Please get as many signatures as you can and deliver the document (in person if possible) to your local Sheriff. Distributing copies, with a short explanation, at meetings and rallies seems to work very well. I can not over emphasis, this is something perhaps the only thing, you can actually do that will make a VERY big difference. Our freedoms are in the balance, and we must use our 1st Amendment while we still have it.
Sadly, we have degenerated to the point this country was when Ben Franklin was compelled to say "If we don’t hang together, we will hang separately."

Our letter to Glenn Beck follows

Dear Glenn,
I have compiled a two page "Open letter to the Sheriffs of the Nation", with petition attached, and presented it to a gathering for your special, and at a Tea Party gathering Sat. The response was incredible. After I gave a short explanation of the 10th Amendment, and the significance of the local government. As they came to realize the last line of defense, of their rights, had been laid in their hands, people were instantly emboldened and excited. I suspect as high as 60% took copies of the letter to sign, have others sign, and deliver to their Sheriff. I was very pleased (to say the least) with the response.
I offer a copy of the letter to you to do with as you see fit. It is a concept that seems to engage the people, and that’s what's important. Should you decide to use the letter feel free to rewrite it , post it, change anything you like, . I do not want credit, that's not the reason I'm doing this.

I intend to continue going to meetings distributing this petition the best I can. Please consider promoting this in some form. I have seen the results, at least in the responded of the people (no feedback from Sheriffs yet). I really feel time is of the essence. If the line can be drawn at the county lines of this nation the socialist may give it up.

A open letter to Sheriffs of the Nation, 3/13/09

I ask that you read this carefully and let it become a part of your standard operating procedures manual of the heart. Your response to this will help decide the ultimate fate of our nation. As sworn officers and oath bound military men and women, you are under the lawful order domain that was codified for all time during the Nuremburg Tribunals of 1945-48. That body decreed to all men and women under arms that merely obeying orders of any kind was not an affirmative defense for actions taken in combat or against civilian populations. The benchmark was established, that if the “order” was criminal in nature or
“required” the affected forces to commit an act they knew was, or suspected to be criminal in nature, they had the absolute right and DUTY to disobey that order and in some cases seek the immediate arrest and prosecution of the ordering authority. That operational standard still exists and will be used should the occasion arise in the near future.
Let me be VERY clear. If a police officer from any jurisdiction, private contractors hired to act as agents of the police, or a military member acting in an “official” capacity should carry out unlawful, unconstitutional, or unethical “orders” that violates the effected person’s lawful rights, safety, security, or freedom, then the offending “agent” of government is liable in court both criminally and civilly. In the worse case situation, the offending agent may be at the mercy of citizens who will not tolerate such abuse. Resistance to such government actions by the citizenry in these situations for the preservation of life and peace is therefore justified in the extreme.
We are left then with this “future” to contemplate. Either intelligence and
common sense will dictate that this nation’s constitutional laws will be followed under all circumstances, or there will be severe consequences both immediate and long term. Be it known that NO police or military authority is exempt from safeguarding the American people from violations of their absolute rights and that all such authority must be lawful, constitutional, humane and fair.
That any officer of the law or of the military have as their first priority, the intelligent and judicious use of their power, and the full knowledge that the Republic of the United States and its people will hold them accountable and responsible for their individual and collective actions in defense of the American people during times of crises from WHATEVER cause.
Be it further understood, that no President, General, Judge, Governor, Attorney General, law enforcement official, legislator, public official at any level or animal control officer may violate civil rights, the Bill of Rights, the law, constitutional authority, or any other covenant with the American people for any reason including open warfare. Any such violation will be considered a violation of the official’s oath of office.

Good intelligence and common sense are the most useful tools in keeping the peace, safeguarding the general population and using the law for the purposes it was intended. Common sense is the gatekeeper for those laws and the maintenance of civilization.
Together we must insure that both intelligence and common sense survive any application or misapplication of the law in any form including that of martial law.
No other course is acceptable. No other course is lawful. No other course will insure that America survives its present economic and political calamities without resorting to all out conflict between its citizens and those in authority.
Our future may well depend on intelligent, and common sense desecration as it applies to the application law ( State and Federal), and that the decisions of the PEOPLE, protected by the Sheriffs at the county, or parish level is absolute.
We The People expect, and respectively submit that those in authority begin at once to exercise intelligent strength of character and the wisdom to know from whence comes their strength. The 10th Amendment provides the power, the people you protect provide the strength through deputization if necessary.
The people you serve have assigned the trust and obligation, the Tenth
Amendment gives you the right to exercise the actions laid out in this letter.
Federal cases histoty that rules in favor of the sovereignty of the counties, and upheld the Sheriffs obligation to enforce these sovereign rights of the people, as set forth in the 10th Amendment.
In conclusion the “best economic minds” as of this writing have concluded the economy will recover this year (2009). In the increasing unlikely event that a recovery comes to pass we must be more vigilant than ever. As set forth in one of the many quotes that directly addresses this very situation.

From county to country, Constitutional enforcement very may fall to us, if it should, we must be prepared to protect our freedoms or they will be no more.
We the undersigned, or bearers of this letter would employ our Sheriffs to defend our freedoms, and liberties as set forth in the Constitution.
