So far I have, James Madison on Monday, Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday, George Washington on Wednesday, for Thursday I will have Thomas Paine or a random quote, Friday is Benjamin Franklin and Saturday is Samuel Adams! Sunday I may have a randam quote of something Spiritual or something! Hope you enjoy them all!

The Words of Our Founding Fathers, James Madison Monday

"If Congress can employ money indefinitely to the general welfare, and are the sole and supreme judges of the general welfare, they may take the care of religion into their own hands; they may appoint teachers in every State, county and parish and pay them out of their public treasury; they may take into their own hands the education of children, establishing in like manner schools throughout the Union; they may assume the provision of the poor; they may undertake the regulation of all roads other than post-roads; in short, every thing, from the highest object of state legislation down to the most minute object of police, would be thrown under the power of Congress... Were the power of Congress to be established in the latitude contended for, it would subvert the very foundations, and transmute the very nature of the limited Government established by the people of America." -James Madison

The Words of Our Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin Fridays

"The ordaining of laws in favor of one part of the nation, to the prejudice and oppression of another, is certainly the most erroneous and mistaken policy. An equal dispensation of protection, rights, privileges, and advantages, is what every part is entitled to, and ought to enjoy."
--Benjamin Franklin, Emblematical Representations, circa 1774

"[I]t is a common observation here that our cause is the cause of all mankind, and that we are fighting for their liberty in defending our own." -Benjamin Franklin

"Where liberty dwells, there is my country." Benjamin Franklin

The Ultimate Blog Party!!

Okay, as usual I am a Little late for the blog party! But please check it out, if you have not already! I hope to get to meet a bunch of the great blogs over time! They have such great prizes, too!

Ultimate Blog Party 2009

Hey Ladies!
I am finally going to finish this post and introduce myself a little bit! Sorry i did not have time sooner! Thank you all for the great comments and stopping by! I will visit your blogs as soon as I can!

I am first my Heavenly Fathers! Then I am a wife to the worlds finest husband, (whom I call King Ed on my blogs!) and mother to two adorable girls, Princess S. (3 1/2) and Princess A. (17 months)! I love my high calling and seek everyday how to best answer my calling and God's will in our lives. God is sooo Good!
I am a SAHM, homemaker, home-schooler, home-birthing and home-growing! Guess you could say, I am big about "home"!
I enjoy reading my Bible, spending time with my family, cooking and baking and making things for my family and others, learning how to sew, learning about and using herbs (which I hope to share about on my blog!), gardening, animals, the Great Out Doors, and growing closer to the Great Creator(!), politics, learning history and about our founding fathers, reading, writing, blogging, etc!
I started my blog to encourage others in their High-calling of raising their children and preparing for their children's future, to grow closer to God and teach their children well, to read and study history, and to remind you that you are part of this great country and that we will pass it on to our children, so we must be involved standing up for our children's future in this country (and here is the best way to do so http://www.the912project.com/)%20)in) , and of course, I share about us, recipes, (soon herbs), songs, etc., etc!
To learn a little more about me, here is an older blog party post,
http://preparingforourchildrensfuture.blogspot.com/2009/03/titus-2-blog-party.html !
I am also a member of "A Virtuous Woman" ! This is a great Ning social network, that I really enjoy! If you join or are all ready a member, let me know and I will add you as a friend! My page there is http://www.avirtuouswoman.org/profile/Hannah60
I also have a blog on Homeschool blogger
http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/ourchildrensfuture/
but it has pretty much the same content as this blog!
I look forward to meeting more of you, sharing and learning!
God bless you in your High-calling as wives, mothers, homemakers and home-schooler's! Remember, "The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world"! Your children are God's mighty warriors, so arm them, prepare them and pray hard!
God is soo Good! Praise His Name!
Love a sister in Christ,
Hannah

The 9 12 Project !!!

http://www.the912project.com/
Wow! I finally have some time to visit the new 9 12 project website! This is sooo Great! I joined, of course and look forward to becoming more involved in this. I urge you to at least look over it. If you join, that would be great! And please share with everyone you know! This is a way you can be involved in all that is going on and learn about things that are not being reported on the news, share videos and pictures of your get-togethers and "Tea Parties" and what all you are doing, or others in your area are doing. This is where you can share your wish list for what you would like to see happening or not happening in Washington, etc. This is a place to meet others who are 9-12ers (people who believe and live by the 9 Principles and 12 values, people who knew/know how to respond after 9/11/01). If you are a 9-12er, please join and share! God bless you and God bless all who stand up for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness!

YOU ARE INVOLVED...and What we have been doing lately..

Wow! A lot has been going on lately and I have a lot of things I have been wanting to share. I don't know if it is better to split a lot of it up or combine it in one post! So I'll see how it runs out!

King Ed want to one of the "Tea Parties" on Feb. 27th that they had all across the country. I know they were not covered by the news, but some of the "Tea Parties" have been pretty big, and they are still having them and planning them! King Ed said there were a couple hundred people there, in Nashville, even though it was rainy and cold!
On March 13th, the girls "Nonnie" came to spend the evening with them, and King Ed and I went with another couple (friends of ours) to a couples home, whom none of us had ever met, for the viewing/ get together of Glenn beck's "We Surround Them" project. The show lasted an hour, but they had Tivo, so we kept stopping it and talking, discussing so much! It was great and we were there for about 2-3 hours! The couple (at who's home we visited) had a meeting the next morning at their local airport. When we showed up around 30 people were there, and the local Representative came in to answer some questions and hear what people had to say and talk a little about the bill they are trying to pass on the 10th Amendment. King Ed confronted him on some issues and so did a few others! Also after the Rep. left and King Ed got a chance to stand up and speak a little, he presented his "Open Letter To the Sheriffs of the nation" (you can find it in a post below. If you would like to print some off to pass around and give to your local sheriff, please email me for the PDF form at theriver@tds.net ). The people there were very happy to have this presented to them and we did not have petitions/letters enough to pass around to everyone, so one man went and made more copies! Anyways, I look forward to going to more meetings and "Tea Parties" and starting some meetings in our area. People are really waking up to what is going on in our country, or at least waking up and wondering what is happening and what they can do about it. I am so thankful to Glenn Beck for the work he has been doing trying to inform people about what is happening and could happen and helping everyone join together in their own areas! People need to be waking up! They need to be educating themselves, and joining others in their area. Things are happening Soo fast in the country right now. It is scary what is coming at us. We no longer have time to bury our heads, ignore the white elephant in the parlor, and never utter a word or become involved. This is Our country! This is where We live and whether we like it or not We are All involved! We will all be affected, no matter what happens, good or bad, in this country. So let us all join together! May there be holes in the knees our clothes from kneeling to pray, and may there be strength in our convictions, may we stand by our words, may we understand and live by our values and become a virtuous people! We cannot afford to loose the country! For the sake of our Founding Fathers', for the sake of our children and future generations, for the sake of freedom, WE MUST STAND!
God bless you all!
In Christ,
Hannah

Last (few) weeks Recipes!

We love lasagna! I have made it 3 times here lately! I made it the first time for King Ed's birthday, back the end of Feb. Then again the 7th of March and then yesterday! Yummy! Yesterday, I did not have fresh sausage, so I used our canned sausage! I also use the dried herbs, since I don't have fresh, I use cottage cheese and powder Parmesan, since that is what I had. I have also used spaghetti sauce instead of tomato sauce, but it makes for juicy sauce! Anyway, use it the way you like and I am sure you will enjoy!
-Hannah

Italian Sausage Lasagna

Prep Time: 1 hour 10 min
Total Time: 2 hours 10 min
Makes: 8 servings

1 pound bulk Italian sausage
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup)
1 garlic clove, crushed
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves or 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1 teaspoon sugar
2 cups Progresso® diced tomatoes (from 28-oz can), undrained
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
12 uncooked lasagna noodles (12 ounces)
1 container (15 ounces) ricotta cheese or small curd creamed cottage cheese (2 cups)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano leaves or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 ounces)
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1. Cook sausage, onion and garlic in 10-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sausage is no longer pink; drain.
2. Stir in 2 tablespoons of the parsley, the basil, sugar, tomatoes and tomato sauce. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally; reduce heat to low. Simmer uncovered about 45 minutes or until slightly thickened.
3. Heat oven to 350ºF. Cook and drain noodles as directed on package.
4. Mix ricotta cheese, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, remaining 1 tablespoon parsley and the oregano.
5. Spread 1 cup of the sauce mixture in ungreased rectangular baking dish, 13x9x2 inches. Top with 4 noodles. Spread 1 cup of the cheese mixture over noodles; spread with 1 cup of the sauce mixture. Sprinkle with 2/3 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat with 4 noodles, the remaining cheese mixture, 1 cup of the sauce mixture and 2/3 cup of the mozzarella cheese. Top with remaining noodles and sauce mixture. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
6. Cover and bake 30 minutes. Uncover and bake about 15 minutes longer or until hot and bubbly. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting.

Here is a coffeecake (below) that King Ed loves! I made it for him a few weeks ago, then again one morning, when we had company for breakfast,(I made it ahead, the night before). Then king Ed suggested that we take it to the "We Surround Them" party that we went to on March the 13th (read more about that in above post!). It was a big hit there, too! I would suggest using an extra 1/2 cup of milk in the cake batter, and 2 more tablespoons of butter in the crumb top. If not, the cake is not very moist.
Enjoy! -Hannah

Golden Crunch Coffee Cake
3 cups sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup milk
In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream
together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one
at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla.
Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating well after
each addition. Spread half of batter in greased 13 by 9 by 2
inch baking pan. Sprinkle half of crumbs over batter. Spread
with remaining batter. Top with remaining crumbs. Bake in a 350
degree oven 45 minutes or until done. Cut into squares and serve
warm. Makes 16 servings.

Crumb Topping
1 cup brown sugar packed
2 tbsp. butter or margarine
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 cup walnuts or pecans chopped
In a bowl, combine ingredients, mixing well.

I found this recipe (below) while looking for something new to fix for our Christmas dinners. We had some friends over two different days, plus our Christmas Day dinner, so I wanted something new and extra, plus I had corn we canned last summer!
So I improvised a little (as usual!) and used a jar of our home canned corn, and a can of Rotel instead of the peppers and onions (and I left out the dill). It was a Huge hit! Everyone loved it and of course wanted the recipe! It is so easy to make! I made it last week and we had it with some burritos!
Enjoy! -Hannah

A friend left us a big thing of strawberries the other day! Princess S. and I were soo delighted! We had the girls "Nonnie" over that Saturday, so I made a strawberry shortcake (for the first time, I hate to admit!). It tasted Great, but wasn't to pretty! I am sure most of you will do better, plus I did not have any heavy whipping cream, so just served it with vanilla ice cream!

The Words of Our Founding Fathers, Samuel Adams Saturday

"Among the natural rights of the colonists are these:first, a right to life;secondly, to liberty;thirdly to property;together with the right to support and defend themin the best manner they can."
Samuel Adams

"He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man...The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy this gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people." Samuel Adams

The Words of Our Founding Fathers, Thomas Jefferson Tuesday

"Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to the accidental opinion of the day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and pursued unalterably through every change of ministers (adminstrators) too plainly proves a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing us to slavery." Thomas Jefferson

"Yes, we did produce a near-perfect republic. But will they keep it? Or will they, in the enjoyment of plenty, lose the memory of freedom? Material abundance without character is the path of destruction." Thomas Jefferson

The Words of Our Founding Father's....Madison Monday 2

"[A]ll power is originally vested in, and consequently derived from, the people. That government is instituted and ought to be exercised for the benefit of the people; which consists in the enjoyment of life and liberty and the right of acquiring property, and generally of pursuing and obtaining happiness and safety. That the people have an indubitable, unalienable, and indefeasible right to reform or change their government whenever it be found adverse or inadequate to the purpose of its institution." Open Letter To the Sheriffs of the Nation

What follows is a letter I sent Glenn Beck today. It lays out what we have been doing and the responses we have realized from our efforts.
I urge you to read the "Open letter to the Sheriffs of the nation", if you agree, distribute anywhere you may deem to be useful. Organizational platforms, political organizations, home school organizations, churches, etc. can get it out much faster and more efficiently. If you have a idea to facilitate distribution please try it. In addition, please participate in this effort on a personal level, family, friends, everyone makes a difference. This WILL WORK!
Please get as many signatures as you can and deliver the document (in person if possible) to your local Sheriff. Distributing copies, with a short explanation, at meetings and rallies seems to work very well. I can not over emphasis, this is something perhaps the only thing, you can actually do that will make a VERY big difference. Our freedoms are in the balance, and we must use our 1st Amendment while we still have it.
Sadly, we have degenerated to the point this country was when Ben Franklin was compelled to say "If we don’t hang together, we will hang separately."
Please feel free to do what you can with this letter/petition, it’s in our hands now. For copies of the "Open letter to the sheriffs of the nation", in PDF form please email me, this will facilitate proper printing.
Thanks so much,
Ed and Hannah
theriver@tds.net

Our letter to Glenn Beck follows

Dear Glenn,
I have compiled a two page "Open letter to the Sheriffs of the Nation", with petition attached, and presented it to a gathering for your special, and at a Tea Party gathering Sat. The response was incredible. After I gave a short explanation of the 10th Amendment, and the significance of the local government. As they came to realize the last line of defense, of their rights, had been laid in their hands, people were instantly emboldened and excited. I suspect as high as 60% took copies of the letter to sign, have others sign, and deliver to their Sheriff. I was very pleased (to say the least) with the response.
I offer a copy of the letter to you to do with as you see fit. It is a concept that seems to engage the people, and that’s what's important. Should you decide to use the letter feel free to rewrite it , post it, change anything you like, . I do not want credit, that's not the reason I'm doing this.
I have the following letter with petition in PDF format ready to print, or post. As I doubt this email address will accept attachments I pasted it below.
If you would like to provide a email address that will accept attachments I will be glad to send the letter in PDF format.
I intend to continue going to meetings distributing this petition the best I can. Please consider promoting this in some form. I have seen the results, at least in the responded of the people (no feedback from Sheriffs yet). I really feel time is of the essence. If the line can be drawn at the county lines of this nation the socialist may give it up.
Thanks for all YOU do.
Ed Pitts

A open letter to Sheriffs of the Nation, 3/13/09

I ask that you read this carefully and let it become a part of your standard operating procedures manual of the heart. Your response to this will help decide the ultimate fate of our nation. As sworn officers and oath bound military men and women, you are under the lawful order domain that was codified for all time during the Nuremburg Tribunals of 1945-48. That body decreed to all men and women under arms that merely obeying orders of any kind was not an affirmative defense for actions taken in combat or against civilian populations. The benchmark was established, that if the “order” was criminal in nature or
“required” the affected forces to commit an act they knew was, or suspected to be criminal in nature, they had the absolute right and DUTY to disobey that order and in some cases seek the immediate arrest and prosecution of the ordering authority. That operational standard still exists and will be used should the occasion arise in the near future.
Let me be VERY clear. If a police officer from any jurisdiction, private contractors hired to act as agents of the police, or a military member acting in an “official” capacity should carry out unlawful, unconstitutional, or unethical “orders” that violates the effected person’s lawful rights, safety, security, or freedom, then the offending “agent” of government is liable in court both criminally and civilly. In the worse case situation, the offending agent may be at the mercy of citizens who will not tolerate such abuse. Resistance to such government actions by the citizenry in these situations for the preservation of life and peace is therefore justified in the extreme.
We are left then with this “future” to contemplate. Either intelligence and
common sense will dictate that this nation’s constitutional laws will be followed under all circumstances, or there will be severe consequences both immediate and long term. Be it known that NO police or military authority is exempt from safeguarding the American people from violations of their absolute rights and that all such authority must be lawful, constitutional, humane and fair.
That any officer of the law or of the military have as their first priority, the intelligent and judicious use of their power, and the full knowledge that the Republic of the United States and its people will hold them accountable and responsible for their individual and collective actions in defense of the American people during times of crises from WHATEVER cause.
Be it further understood, that no President, General, Judge, Governor, Attorney General, law enforcement official, legislator, public official at any level or animal control officer may violate civil rights, the Bill of Rights, the law, constitutional authority, or any other covenant with the American people for any reason including open warfare. Any such violation will be considered a violation of the official’s oath of office.

Good intelligence and common sense are the most useful tools in keeping the peace, safeguarding the general population and using the law for the purposes it was intended. Common sense is the gatekeeper for those laws and the maintenance of civilization.
Together we must insure that both intelligence and common sense survive any application or misapplication of the law in any form including that of martial law.
No other course is acceptable. No other course is lawful. No other course will insure that America survives its present economic and political calamities without resorting to all out conflict between its citizens and those in authority.
Our future may well depend on intelligent, and common sense desecration as it applies to the application law ( State and Federal), and that the decisions of the PEOPLE, protected by the Sheriffs at the county, or parish level is absolute.
We The People expect, and respectively submit that those in authority begin at once to exercise intelligent strength of character and the wisdom to know from whence comes their strength. The 10th Amendment provides the power, the people you protect provide the strength through deputization if necessary.
The people you serve have assigned the trust and obligation, the Tenth
Amendment gives you the right to exercise the actions laid out in this letter.
Federal cases histoty that rules in favor of the sovereignty of the counties, and upheld the Sheriffs obligation to enforce these sovereign rights of the people, as set forth in the 10th Amendment.
In conclusion the “best economic minds” as of this writing have concluded the economy will recover this year (2009). In the increasing unlikely event that a recovery comes to pass we must be more vigilant than ever. As set forth in one of the many quotes that directly addresses this very situation.
"Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety"
Ben Franklin
From county to country, Constitutional enforcement very may fall to us, if it should, we must be prepared to protect our freedoms or they will be no more.
We the undersigned, or bearers of this letter would employ our Sheriffs to defend our freedoms, and liberties as set forth in the Constitution.

The Words of Our Founding Father's--Washington Wednesday

We have not had much time to read "The Real George Washinton" lately, and I really miss it! We bought a new book ("The 5000 year Leap") and have been reading it whenever we have the time, before bed. Really amazing book and helps put so much together that I have heard or read about, but did not know the meaning! But, back to George...I still miss him and might just have to sneak in a few chapters sometime! ha!ha!
Here are some more great quotes from this great man for you to read and digest today!

"The foundation of our Empire was not laid in the gloomy age of Ignorance and Superstition, but at an Epoch when the rights of mankind were better understood and more clearly defined, than at any former period." George Washington

"No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America. Wondrously strange, then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass." George Washington

"If we are wise, let us prepare for the worst."
-George Washington

The Words of Our Founding Father's---James Madison Monday

Who better for Monday's Founding Father than the Father of the Constitution, James Madison! I still have a lot of studying to do on James Madison, since I don't know much about him. King Ed wrote the title for me! Too good! But so sadly true.

The Stimulus Bill,

"It will be of little avail to the people, that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man, who knows what the law is today, can guess what it will be tomorrow. Law is defined to be a rule of action; but how can that be a rule, which is little known, and less fixed?"

James Madison
(1751-1836), Father of the Constitution for the USA, 4th US President

Spiritual Sunday--5

In my Bible reading today, while reading Luke chapter 11, I came across these words that Jesus spoke to the crowds:
"The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness. If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, the whole body will be full of light, as when the bright shining of a lamp gives you light.” Luke 11:34-36
It made me think about the darkness in ones life. How much darkness is in my life? What areas in my life do I need to work on? Dark is the absence of light, therefore whatever areas of my life are dark, it is because the light is absent! When there is darkness it is always very dark! how ugly to pick up an apple and find one side of it completely black with rottenness! The apple must be discarded before it goes to complete mush and ruins other apples around it! We must remove the blackness/darkness from our lives before we turn to mush and cause others around us to become black with dark spots too! This is very harmful! Thankfully though, unlike apples, we can be made new again! We can be cleansed, and light can replace that which was once dark!
One of the first verses that popped up in my mind after reading and thinking about Luke 11:34-36 was Philippians 4:8
"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things."
This is verse I think of often, in reminding myself what ought to be thought of, talked about and meditated on! If we live by this and God's beautiful laws and His word to us, we can be "full of light, having no dark part"! How wonderful that is! Praise the Lord! He is the light and in Him we can find light and become a light for Him! May we walk worthy of this high calling-to be a light to the world!
Shine! God is Good!
Shining for Jesus,
Hannah

"For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light." Ephesians 5:8
“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven."Matthew 5:14-16
"But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin." 1 John 1:7
"I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness." John 12:46
"Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12

The Words of Our Founding Father's--Washington Wednesdays

Truly a man of God, the faith and strength of George Washington never ceases to amaze me.
By reading about him, one can clearly see his faith in "Providence"! You can see God's hand at work in the founding and freedom of our country, no one can deny it, it is soo outstanding! You can see how Washington's men, much like the children of Israel, were not soldiers and men of war, experienced in combat! Most were farmers and merchants, men who had never faced flying bullets and strong forces, who far outnumbered them! In the same way the children of Israel, when on their way and entering into the promised land, were not people of war. But God was with them. He blessed them and help them fight their battles and become free people in their promised land! It is amazing to see God's hand at work, with the children of Israel, and with the men who fought and worked to found this country and bring it freedom. The miracles, and the forces that can only come from our great God, are seen everywhere in their daily lives! One can only stop and praise the Lord for the Mighty works He has done for His children!
I hope you enjoy today's quotes!
How true they are. Try applying these to your life!
In Christ,
Hannah

"There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily."
George Washington

"If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin." George Washington

"It should be the highest ambition of every American to extend his views beyond himself, and to bear in mind that his conduct will not only affect himself, his country, and his immediate posterity; but that its influence may be co-extensive with the world, and stamp political happiness or misery on ages yet unborn." George Washington

Titus 2 Blog Party

She Looketh Well . . . Blog
Hello to all the ladies at the Titus 2 Blog Party!
And for those who have not been to the party yet, please visit Michelle over at http://shelookethwell.blogspot.com/ and find out how to join!
Michelle has asked us to share a little about ourselves and invites us to visit other women who desire to be Titus 2 women! How inspiring! I really enjoy being "At The Well"http://www.titus2atthewell.com/, and just wish I had more time to read and meet more there!

I am very shy and leery of writing much about myself on here, but will give it a try!
I was born in TX. My family moved to TN. and bought 119 acres of, not the best(!) land, when I was almost (12 yrs. old) and we lived a very plain life (similar to Amish or Mennonites). We cooked on a wood stove, cut firewood with a bow saw, raised A Lot of animals for meat, milk, eggs, to sell, etc. grow gardens every year, hauled water from the creek and spring till we got gravity flow water, used mules for plowing, lived Way back off the road and had to walk all the way up to the house, and pretty much everything on a farm and all by hand! We did have a van for going to town, though. We lived in a tiny, old 10'x50' trailer house for several years, then built us a house! That was a great experience, but not the first or last house or building I got to help build!
Sadly my parents did not have it all right, and my sister left home when she turned 18. I left after I turned 18, and became Ed's wife! And my next sibling down (a brother) left right before he turned 18. I still have 5 siblings at home between the ages 17 and 5. I do not see them though, since we do not want to expose our children to the drama.
I am 23 yrs. old now, happily married to the most incredible man in the whole world, King Ed! He is a lot older then me, according to his birth certificate, but I think there must have been a missprint! We use to enjoy seeing people's expressions when they found out we were married, but now we hardly notice! We have the best marriage I have ever seen, known of or heard about and I thank God everyday for all our blessings! We have two little girls so far, Princess S. (3 1/2) and Princess A. (16 months)! Both were born at home! And we are starting homeschooling with Princess S.! They are such blessings!
We pray that the Lord has a bigger piece of land for us in the future and we are able to raise our children close to the land and close to God!
I enjoy baking, cooking, homemaking, homeschooling, growing closer to God, learning more about Him and trying to be more like Jesus(!), nature and the Great OutDoors, animals, gardening, canning, working with and learning about herbs, sewing, reading, learning history, writing and more recently, blogging!
May God bless us mothers and give us His wisdom and guidance so that we may raise up for Him, godly children and mighty warriors!
God bless you in your High-Calling as a wife/mother/homemaker/teacher!
A sister in Christ,
Hannah

Spiritual Sundays 4

"Therefore you shall lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as front lets between your eyes. You shall teach them to your children, speaking of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates, that your days and the days of your children may be multiplied in the land of which the LORD swore to your fathers to give them, like the days of the heavens above the earth."
Deuteronomy 11:18-21
"That the generation to come might know them,The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children,
That they may set their hope in God,And not forget the works of God, But keep His commandments."
Psalms 78:6&7

As a young, homeschooling, Christian mother, I am trying to teach my children every day about God and His love. I have great joy in hearing Princess S. sing the children's Sunday school songs and see her eagerness to learn more about Jesus! We read a Bible story everyday and she is always full of questions! I feel the need to learn more about God and His word so that I am more prepared to answer her many questions and explain to her things so that she is able to understand them well.
I have many areas where I need to grow, so that I am better prepared to teach my children well! I pray that I am a good, godly, teacher to our children, and that I teach what is pleasing and honouring to God.
I pray that I am a good example to my children. I pray that they see the importance of God in my life and want God in their lives, too. I pray that they have pure hearts and minds and that God guides and directs their paths and keeps them in the palm of His Mighty Hand!
As parents, and grandparents it is important that we cling to our God and Saviour and seek His will and guidance so that we may be a light to the children in our lives, shining for Jesus, so that they may always see clearly, the path to Him.
Growing up with controlling parents has also helped me see the dangers of forcing someone to do or believe as we do. This is not healthy to young hearts and minds. God is not forceful. God stands at the door and knocks, He does not press in, knock the door down or force Himself into our lives. He waits with open arms! So we must not force God upon our children. We should teach Him lovingly, gently, patiently.
Pray for the children in your life.
Pray with the children in your life! Family prayers, bedtime prayers, mealtime prayers! When children see your praise and respect, they will follow you. Remember, children learn more by example!
Today, I will sing songs of praise to God, read a Bible story, read my own Bible, say a prayer with and for my children, and probably recite a memory verse, with my children watching or joining in! Please teach God lovingly and by example to your children. He has blessed you with these children and He wants to be close to them, love them and wants them to love Him to!
In Christ,
Hannah
